The Greek Revival Daniel Peck house at 5142 Peck Road, DeWitt, was built of field cobblestones in the 1840s. It has been extensively remodeled over the years. The Greek detailing is modest but the triangular attic vent is a typical signature detail. Richard Palmer blog.
Editor's Note: The structure is accessed by either a long private road Steinway Drive West or public Steinway Drive South, and the property is adjoined on the west, south and east by new higher end development. Glenn Henchy states "Built 1852. A large house hidden by trees. Land recently sold for development. May be threatened." "Cobblestone Buildings in Onondaga County", 1992, Structure No. 26, compiled by Glenn Hinchey.
Structure was illustrated in "Town and Garden" magazine, 1959. Photographs by Hans Van Nes. Courtesy Cobblestone Museum.
